Seismic adaptation of Barracks - Nocera Inferiore

The aim of the project was the seismic adaptation of the building intended for barracks, following an in-depth assessment of the structural vulnerabilities of the existing building. Through this analysis, the main critical issues were identified, allowing the planning of targeted interventions to guarantee the safety and stability of the building in the event of seismic events.

The structural interventions involved both traditional techniques, such as the reinforcement of the pillars by means of steel profiles, and innovative solutions, using composite materials. In particular, carbon fibers were applied to the intrados of beams and joists that presented structural problems, with the aim of increasing their resistance capacity and improving the overall seismic behavior of the building.

The project represents an important step forward in the seismic adaptation of public structures, combining traditional techniques and cutting-edge materials to improve safety, preserving the functionality and integrity of the building in the long term.
