This executive project concerns the widening and redevelopment of the road Via Santa Cecilia in the Municipality of Celano, province of L’Aquila. The initiative focuses on improving road infrastructure, with the aim of enhancing the safety, functionality and accessibility of this road artery, which connects the intersection of Via Campotosto with Via San Nicola-San Severino.
The interventions foreseen in the project include:
- Construction of new road surfaces, essential to ensure a more resistant road surface suitable for modern traffic.
- Implementation of a public lighting system along the stretch, improving visibility and safety during night hours.
- Construction of sidewalks and paths dedicated to sustainable mobility, designed to encourage pedestrian and bicycle traffic.
- This helps promote sustainable urban planning, reducing dependence on cars and improving the quality of life in the area.
Technical Features
The length of the project road is 343.40 meters, with road sections widened to facilitate traffic flow and improve access for emergency vehicles.
Underground drainage pipes and drainage ditches are provided for proper management of rainwater, ensuring proper drainage and reducing the risk of flooding.
Pedestrian and vehicular access has been improved, with existing fencing demarcating private and public areas.
Project Objectives
The initiative is part of an urban redevelopment plan that aims to:

Promote sustainable mobility by providing safe routes for cyclists and pedestrians.
Reduce environmental impact through infrastructure that effectively manages wastewater and stormwater.
The project is part of a larger public works program of the Municipality of Celano and has obtained financial support through the CUP (Unique Project Code) and the CIG (Tender Identification Code), demonstrating the importance of the initiative at a local level.
